TESL NS Spring Conference

June 3, 2023

Registration, cost and more details coming soon!

The TESL Nova Scotia Spring 2023 Conference, “Shifting Practice in ELT”, will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023. We are planning an in-person conference at Acadia University (Wolfville, NS), with the possibility to offer some virtual sessions, depending on submissions received.

The goal of this Spring’s conference is to share ideas, strategies, materials, and research related to the many ways in which we have had to re-calibrate our teaching and program management strategies these past several years. Of course, shifting to virtual teaching is one thing that immediately comes to mind, but we wish to capture much more than that. We invite ideas that reflect how you have adapted or shifted your English Language Teaching approaches, from re-evaluating English-only policies to leverage biliteracy, to moving toward content-based learning, to aiming for more inclusive practices. While we encourage presentations related to this idea of shifting practices, proposals on all topics will be considered.

Call for Proposals

We invite proposals for 45-minute presentations and facilitated discussions. Proposals are primarily being accepted for in-person sessions. Have an idea that is outside the box? Please suggest it! We are open to creative ideas, and if it meets our membership’s needs, we will do our best to accommodate it.

Proposals are due by the end of the day on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Please complete an online proposal here.

We will contact you with your proposal’s status by May 5th, 2023.
