The TESL NS Fall Conference, Cultivating Connection, will take place on Saturday, November 27, 9am – 3pm, over Zoom.
Call for Participation (CfP) and Registration now open!
CfP Deadline: Monday, October 18, 2021
The TESL NS Fall 2021 Conference is taking a progressive approach by issuing a Call for Participation for a one-day virtual event. This is meant to recognize the changes to teaching contexts and the new personal and professional demands on English language teachers in the Atlantic region. The Call for Participation is meant to encourage engagement in the important work that we are doing in a way that suits our members and colleagues in New Brunswick and Newfoundland & Labrador.
Cultivating Connection is the guiding principle shaping the conference and member feedback will determine the final topics and session types. You have the option to choose how you wish to engage with each topic: as an attendee, informal or formal presenter. We have outlined broad themes in the CfP and encourage you to submit a topic suggestion that may better reflect your work. We will be structuring each session based on responses to the Call for Participation.
- Connecting teachers: mentoring, networking, collaborating
- Connecting students with teachers, classmates, and institutions
- Connecting learning and community
- Connecting to ourselves: self care and supporting learners
- Connecting to the future: lessons learned
The Fall Conference is open and free of charge to TESL Atlantic members. All 2020 TESL NS memberships were extended through Dec 31, 2021. Registering for a 2022 membership will provide access to the Fall 2021 conference and 2022 conferences. Become a TESL NS member at https://teslns.com/membership/.
