TESL NS Spring Conference Call for Proposals

Theme: Empowering Educators: Tools, Strategies, and Innovations
Date: 31 May 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 9am-3pm
Venue: Saint Mary’s University, 923 Robie St, Halifax, NS B3H 3C3

This will be an in-person conference, providing attendees with opportunities for networking, professional development, and collaboration. Virtual sessions will not be offered.

Conference Highlights:

In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, educators must continually refine their skills, integrate emerging technologies, and apply innovative teaching strategies to foster student success. This conference theme, Empowering Educators: Tools, Strategies, and Innovations, underscores the importance of equipping educators with the necessary resources, methodologies, and insights to enhance their teaching effectiveness and create inclusive, dynamic learning environments.  

We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  1. Technological advancements, digital resources, and instructional materials in language teaching and learning: This includes AI-powered tools, online learning platforms, language assessment software, and classroom apps designed to enhance engagement and accessibility.
  2. Learner-centered approaches, and innovative techniques that promote language acquisition and intercultural competence: This could include differentiated instruction, gamification, inclusive pedagogies, and task-based learning.
  3. Groundbreaking research, emerging trends, and creative solutions in language education: This may involve insights into multilingual classrooms, alternative assessment models, and policy shifts that impact educators and learners.

Presentation Format: 

45 minute oral presentation followed by a 5 minute Q&A  

If you have an innovative or unconventional idea, we also encourage you to share it. We welcome creative proposals and will make every effort to accommodate them, provided they align with the conference theme.

Submission deadline: 25 April 2025 (Friday)

We will contact you with your proposal’s status by first week of May.
