2015 Spring Conference

The TESL Nova Scotia Spring Conference will be held  on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS) in Halifax. The Spring conference is an annual event for ESL professionals from across the province to network and share knowledge  with the goal of enhancing professional practice of the teaching of English in Nova Scotia. Conference Program The day will consist of a series of presentations, discussions, and workshops, lunch, and door prizes. About the ISANS Emergency Fund Cash donations will be accepted at the conference for the refugee emergency fund at ISANS. The Refugee Emergency Fund is intended to provide short-tem financial relief to government assisted refugees who are experiencing a financial crisis and who have no other financial resources to access at the time. The fund also supports individuals with urgent medication or transportation needs while other funding is being applied for.  The fund is most often used to cover the cost of food vouchers, bus tickets , taxi vouchers and medications.
